COVID-19 prior to opening on the 4th July, we have been busy preparing the the Pub for that day, we have removed tables to meet the 1mtr + guideline, in actual fact we are mostly 2 metres, we have screened off both bars for staff and customer safety, we have also created a one way system. Our toilets are set up for 1 in 1 out, and we have an abundance of hand sanitisers placed around the pub, we consider staff and customer safety paramount and would ask that you follow the guidelines. Look forward to seeing you all again.
WBPPL CHAMPIONS
Well done to our B team who clinched the B division title last night(11/09) despite a 6-3 loss they managed to hold on by a single point. Hero of the hour Stuart Pusey grabbing the all important point on the last frame of the match. Well done to the whole team, the first beer is on me

Very popular throughout mainland Europe, I'm told by some of my regulars it's very addictive, so watch this space, come and have a go, Sunday nights TBA. Once we have gauged how popular it might be, we will form our own in house league. Likely to be teams of Three

Outstanding Community Pub Award
Absolutely chuffed to be recognised by West Berks CAMRA. Over 100 Pubs nominated, OLA and 2 other Pubs awarded this year each with a different community offering. For us this recognition is what we have spent the last 4 years working towards, we always wanted to be at the heart of our community and this has been made possible by our staff and fabulous locals.
This years Charity
It's a long story how we come to choose Guide Dogs for the Blind as our Charity for the year. It all started with a chance visit to the Pub by Guide Dog Oakley. Oakley has his own Facebook page and along with his owners travel the length and breadth of the UK canals. when we had finished talking(Not to Oakley) it was decided we would have a crack at raising £5,000.00, thus enabling us to name a dog, that was the easy part name decided there and then Ola(see how that works) One of our regulars is losing her sight and will need a Guide dog, so it made it that bit closer to home. To date we have raised £5042.66, so we get to name a dog, and still have 6 events to go so maybe just maybe we can name a second dog
